THE CIRCLE
We put you in a circle with other amazing people.
So you are both serving and being served, creating a community of artists serving artists.
We start with you.
Each individual in the circle serves as Midwife to another maker in the circle.
Along the way you will be supported by us, The Midwives, as we create a community of Artist+Midwife Circles.
The Midwife Circle is a network of peer support, advocacy, and accountability. Each individual in the network commits to serving as both a midwife and an artist. The goal in these relationships is to create space for seeds of artistic projects to grow, change, and deepen. This process is guided by a philosophy of generosity, curiosity, and making the artist the authority in the room.
We believe we are nourished through service, and inspired through witnessing one another’s work.

-Orientation
-All Community Circle Programming
*We anticipate you’ll spend approximately 4-10 hours a month engaged in Midwives-related activities outside of your own creative practice.
The Midwives Six Month Circle:
February 1, 2024 - July 31, 2024
The Midwives Six Month is brand spanking new this year. We think of her as the Goldilocks of terms. Time is a primary component to a Midwives term and we are always in search of the “perfect” length of time to build relationships, cultivate creativity, and build community across artists. This circle meets monthly and we encourage you to meet with your Artist and Midwife at least once a month.
Artist-Midwife Circle Cost:
At The Midwives, we value accessibility and fair compensation for work. We strongly believe money shouldn’t be a barrier to access. For our Artist-Midwife Circles, it costs approximately $200 per month per artist to provide this programming.
We offer the Artist-Midwife Circles on a sliding scale rate of $50 - $250 per month with the hope that our members with more resources can chip in to keep The Midwives accessible. For more information, refer to our FAQ page.
